Clay Blevins grew up in Virginia. Way out in the far reaches of the Appalachian mountains. From early on Clay showed an ability to easily match pitch and to hear something on the radio and know it by ear with only a few listens. It seemed that his brain just absorbed it all up like a sponge. Clay always loved music and singing but wasn't sure about the whole musician thing. Besides, who grows up to be a musician? Kids grow up to be doctors and lawyers and nurses and social workers and truck drivers and carpenters. You name it people do it. Except for musicians. So Clay did what most people do. Got through public school, went to college, got a degree in psychology and much later got a Masters in Social Work. It seemed like what he was supposed to do. Still the music called to him and he found himself singing in bands in high school. Singing in the church choir. Singing in the Concert Choir at Emory & Henry College, now Emory & Henry University. He eventually learned guitar and played with some other musicians but it took a while before the playing out bug bit him. Now he's playing somewhere every week! There's nothing more enjoyable for him than sharing some music with people who enjoy it.
